1. Build a Multi-Layered Defense

This is a classic strategy based on the principle of forcing the enemy to carry multiple types of tools. If you only use one type of block, the opponent only needs to craft a corresponding tool (for example, if you only use Obsidian, they only need Diamond Pickaxes).

Innermost layer: Obsidian. This is the hardest block in the game, requiring Diamond Pickaxes and taking a very long time to excavate.
Middle layer: Hay Bales or Glass. Hay Bales are unaffected by Pickaxes or Axes, forcing the opponent to smash them with their bare hands (very slow) or use wooden/stone Axes to optimize time. Glass helps you detect if the enemy is intentionally digging tunnels from below.
Outermost layer: Wood or Endstone. This forces the opponent to switch to using Axes or Iron Pickaxes.
