Apple Worm is an intellectual puzzle game. Players need to help a green worm eat red apples on the way and find the way to the exit gate to pass the new level.

Apple Worm Gameplay

Your goal

Your goal in each level is to control the worm to eat all the apples on the screen and then move to the exit portal to complete the level. You use the arrow keys (up, down, left, right) or the navigation buttons on the touch screen (if playing on mobile) to move the worm.

To help the worm grow longer, you need to find apples and swallow them. When the worm grows longer, it will have the effect of being longer, so you can go through large gaps. But it will also make it difficult for it to go through narrow paths because of its length.

The lengthened body can help the worm bridge gaps, block some unwanted paths, or even push other objects (if there are any in the specific level). Once the caterpillar has grown, you must be careful not to stab yourself or get stuck in a corner that you cannot escape from. This is a key point that requires the player to calculate the path carefully.

Environment

In addition to eating apples and growing longer, you also have to deal with many other elements in the environment. The levels can have different types of terrain, such as walls, gaps, or movable blocks. You can encounter fixed or moving obstacles that require you to find a way to overcome or use them intelligently. After eating all the apples, the exit gate will appear (or be activated). You must get the entire caterpillar into this hole to complete the level.

Apple Worm Levels

Starter Level

The first levels (e.g., levels 1-5) are usually designed to introduce the player to the basic controls and rules of the game. There are few obstacles, and the path is simple. The main goal is to understand that you need to eat apples and then reach the exit. Players will quickly realize that the worm grows longer after eating apples, and sometimes that growth can be difficult.

Intermediate Level

These levels begin to introduce new environmental elements and require the player to think more strategically. The challenges also become more complex. The path is no longer straight, but instead has many turns or dead ends. The apples are placed in positions where eating them can lead to the worm getting stuck or making it difficult to escape without planning.

Advanced Level

Every square counts. Sometimes the wrong order of apples can cause you to have to replay the level. Instead of dodging, you may have to use walls, pushable blocks, or even traps to your advantage (e.g. using the worm's body to block spikes).
