Bad Time Simulator is a skill-based game and will help the player test his reflex skills. The player's mission is to try to protect his heart from Sans' attacks.
In Bad Time Simulator, you control a small red heart that represents the soul of the main character, Frisk. This red heart starts the game in a white square. Your goal is to try to move the heart as quickly as possible to avoid Sans' constant attacks. You should note that Sans' attacks are quite fast and continuous, so it is possible to get overwhelmed by being bombarded with them. You do not have the ability to attack Sans; the battle only ends when you survive long enough for him to tire out.
Sans is famous for combining different types of attacks in unpredictable and complex ways, forcing players to constantly change tactics:
Bones are typically white skeletons that grow from the floor, ceiling, or on either side of the screen. They can appear individually, in chains, or as barriers that move horizontally/vertically across the screen. The speed and density of bones increase over time.
In addition to the white skeleton, there is also the blue skeleton. When the blue bone passes through your position, you must stand still to avoid taking damage. If you move even a little when the blue bone touches you, you will lose health. This is one of the most unique and difficult mechanics, requiring concentration and changing your gameplay immediately.
These are floating skulls that can shoot extremely powerful energy beams. Gaster Blasters can appear in various locations, firing in chains or forming a "wall" of lasers. Their setup time is very short, forcing you to react extremely quickly to move out of range.
Sans has a rather interesting ability to change gravity in the game. So your heart can be pulled up to the ceiling or fall to the floor, or be pushed to the sides. This forces you to constantly adjust your direction of movement to counter or take advantage of the sudden change in gravity. Sans can also move the entire battle frame unexpectedly, forcing you to quickly adapt to the changing environment and the location of attacks.
This is Sans's exclusive damage mechanic. When you are hit by any attack, in addition to the immediate loss of health, you will also suffer additional "Karma" damage. Karma damage will cause your health bar to continue to decrease for a short period of time, even if you don't get hit again. This puts a lot of pressure on the player, as even small hits can add up to serious damage over time.
