Don't just look at your character. Pay attention to the location of the traps (like the flying saucer coming out of the kitchen, the apple falling from the tree). If you see them flashing, it means someone is about to activate that trap!

When you fall, continuously press the movement keys to wake your character up faster.

When playing the role of setting traps, be patient. Don't activate traps too early. Wait for your opponent to enter your sights or be in mid-air before activating them. Much like pulling off the perfect scare in Haunt the House, timing is absolutely everything when you want to catch your targets off guard!
