X Trench Run is a high-speed action arcade game, an endless runner combined with space shooting, reminiscent of classic combat sequences in sci-fi movies.
What is your goal in X Trench Run?
Survival and Evasio
The most basic and important goal is to keep the spaceship from being destroyed.
Continuously move the spaceship to avoid a series of static and dynamic obstacles in the tunnel (trench). Colliding with any obstacle will cause the spaceship to explode, ending the turn.
The player must constantly react and adjust the position of the spaceship (up, down, left, right) in a narrow 3D space at extremely fast speed. This is the main challenge of reflexes and spatial awareness.
Destroy Enemies
Your spaceship is equipped with weapons, so combat is an indispensable part:
- While flying through the tunnel, enemy ships will appear and attack you. The goal is to use guns to destroy them before they can hit or block your movement.
- Destroying certain enemies and obstacles is also a way for players to accumulate points, which is a secondary goal to compete for achievements.
Beat the Boss and Progress
The game is divided into several levels. To progress, the player must complete the final mission of each stage:
- At the end of each level (or certain stages), the player will face a larger, more complex boss. This battle requires a combination of dodging the boss's complex attacks while focusing fire on its weak points to destroy it.
- Only when you destroy the boss (or complete the tunnel section) will you officially complete the level and move on to the next level with higher difficulty (faster speed, more obstacles).
Obstacles and Traps in X Trench Run
The tunnels are filled with hazards designed to test the player's reflexes:
- Blocks, columns, or sections of tunnel walls protrude. They are often arranged in complex patterns (e.g., needing to squeeze through narrow gaps) that the player must memorize and react to quickly.
- Some obstacles will move in certain trajectories (e.g., opening and closing, rotating, or sliding), requiring the player to calculate the timing of their dodge.
In addition to physical obstacles, the player must also dodge fire, missiles, or lasers fired from the walls or from enemies.
